Ivy Croft

Ivy Croft is a bungalow adjacent to Ivy Cottage.  This provides support for 4 adults in a supported living environment under the regulated activity of Ivy Cottage Residential home.

There is a fully equipped communal kitchen, lounge and dining area and a utility area.

There are four fully furnished bedrooms all with en-suite, including a hand wash basin, toilet and spacious walk in shower.

There is a small garden to the front of the bungalow with a seating area and a barbeque.  There is a drive at the side and rear of the home for off road parking.


Ivy Croft delivers care and support to individuals with learning disabilities and is also able to offer a support package to individuals who may have a more complex forensic history.  The country setting allows us to support individuals with associated community risks to develop their skills within a safe and secure environment.  Provision of transport and public transport allows us to access local services and amenities in line with relevant risk assessments.


The home is staffed 24 hours a day by a highly trained , motivated staff team (please see ‘professional development’ for further information on staff training)who are managed by a service manager and an assistant manager. Please click on the image above for more details.



A person centred approach ensures the individual’s wishes and needs are met and they remain in control of how they choose to live their lives, the Staff team support the individuals in achieving this whilst ensuring health, safety and  

well-being of the individual is maintained.

Registered Service Manager, Ivy Cottage / Ivy Croft

















David joined Ivy Care on the 1st September 2014.


David has been involved in Health and Social Care since 1986, starting out as a technician in the theatre department at Barnsley District Hospital and then branching out and progressing to Nursing, specialising in learning disabilities, training and project work.


This will be David's 3rd Registered Managers role.


David has obtained the following qualifications:

1st Level Registered Nurse (LD), ENB 997/8 Teaching and Assessing in Clinical Practice, NVQ Assessor and Verifier, C & G 7307 Learning and Assessment, MILM Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Management, Therapeutic Crisis Intervention Trainer (accredited by Cornell University) Exp, Practice Educator (accredited by Sheffield Hallam University ) Exp and L3 Safe Handling of Medication.


David has a strong commitment to identifying and sourcing meaningful and vocational activity for those who experience difficulties in mainstream society and is a true advocate of engaging with numerous external providers to work in partnership with them to create and sustain opportunities for people we support.  


David is dedicated to promoting equality and providing effective and meaningful support to individuals in a person centred and value based way. He feels this is crucial in any service which seeks to support and empower people who may often be marginalised.



Terene Taylor, Deputy Manager, Ivy Cottage / Ivy Croft


Terene joined Ivy Care in 2001 as a support worker and worked hard to develop her skills and knowledge base.


Terene was promoted to Senior Support Worker in 2005 and took on board any new learning opportunities which helped further develop her skills; leading to a further promotion in 2008 when Terene was appointed the Deputy Manager role at Ivy Lodge.  As deputy Terene helped establish a new home with the manager and staff team.


Terene has obtained NVQ 2, 3 and level 4 in leadership and management and with 14 and half years experience in Health and Social Care this has helped her progress her career and contribute to the Ivy care team.

Terene is committed to Ivy care and  those who use the service by promoting independence, person centred planning but above all valuing each individual.
